Ruth Taylor Bass

In loving memory of Ruth T Bass, born June 2, 1934 in Dothan, Alabama.  She passed away on January 16, 2024 at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital with her family by her side.

Ruth is survived by her six children, Glenda, Donnie, Janice (husband Charlie), Melissa, Tammy, and Ricky and 10 grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her son, Mike, her parents and all eight siblings.  She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Ruth was a member of Quincy Assembly of God Church in Quincy.  She spent most of her life in Greensboro, Florida.  She loved to fish, work in her rose beds, and enjoyed her cats. She was affectionately known as “Ma Bass” or “Granny Ruth” by the numerous children that passed thru her doors.  Her family knows that she is at peace with the Lord and has probably already been fishing in her new body.  She never met a stranger and everyone was welcome at her table.

There will be a celebration of life on Friday, January 19, 2024 from 11:00 – 1:00PM at Independent Funeral Home, Quincy, FL with Pastor Luis Seabra presiding.  There will be a private burial at Hilcrest Cemetery with the immediate family.
